Commission approves bridge and culvert bids, liquor-license renewals and township appointment

Procurement votes: staff recommended and the board accepted Husker Steel’s low bid of $27,546 for structural steel for a bridge on Flag Road and accepted Wellborn Sales’ decking bid of $30,486.10. Commissioners also awarded a delivered bid of $6,578.22 for four culverts (across three sites); county crews will perform installation and staff said the work is likely to occur in the next construction season.
Licenses and personnel: The board approved CMB license renewals for Ferris Station and Waltz 4 Seasons after the standard township and state vetting. Commissioners accepted the resignation of Sherman Township trustee Lyle Heinz (effective Jan. 1, 2026) and appointed Daryl Ferguson to succeed him. The board designated Commissioner Lynn Peterson to sign accounts payable on or before Dec. 11, 2025, while two commissioners attend the Kansas Association of Counties conference.
