Durham recognizes Together for Resilient Youth on 25th anniversary

The resolution notes TRY’s naloxone distribution to school resource officers, medication drop boxes and prevention curricula targeted to youth and juvenile justice populations.
Dr. Wanda Boone, CEO and cofounder, accepted the resolution and described TRY’s community‑developed resource guide, health ambassadors, work on vaping and opioid prevention and data‑driven approaches that informed local public health responses. Commissioners praised TRY’s sustained leadership and community impact.
The board’s recognition is a formal acknowledgment; no board action beyond adoption of the resolution was required.
