Board authorizes AG representation and approves proposed terminations of two employees
Summary
After closed session the Conroe ISD board approved representation by the Texas Office of the Attorney General in a legal matter and voted to propose mid-contract terminations for two employees (Darby Brady and Angela Gollard); all actions were taken by board vote in open session following closed deliberations.
After a closed session under the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Conroe ISD board returned to open session Oct. 21 and took several actions.
Trustees voted to approve representation of the district by the Office of the Attorney General in the matter identified in the meeting as Ringer et al. v. Comal ISD et al. A motion was made and approved by uplift of hands.
The board also voted on superintendent recommendations to propose termination for good cause and to authorize notice of proposed mid-contract termination for two employees: Darby Brady and Angela Gollard. Motions were made and seconded for both proposed terminations and trustees announced the motions carried after votes in open session.
Board procedures require that final action on personnel matters follow the public record and that notices be authorized; trustees followed that process and recorded votes in open session after closed deliberations.
