Board amends contract to make Ted Landry deputy superintendent; trustees recognize his interim service

The Conroe ISD board voted Oct. 21 to amend the district contract for Dr. Ted Landry, transitioning him from interim superintendent to deputy superintendent and ending his interim contract, a change the board said was "to make sure it's clean" procedurally.
A motion to amend Dr. Landry's deputy-superintendent contract was moved, seconded and approved by uplift of hands. A trustee reading recognized Landry for his work during an "intervening period" earlier in the year and presented a custom plaque crafted by Conroe ISD High School graphic-design students.
Dr. Landry thanked the board for the opportunity to remain with the district he called home and said he looked forward to continuing to serve in the new role. "For me to be able to remain in Conroe ISD, in the place I love, means a great deal," he said.
Trustees then asked Dr. Landry and district staff to remain engaged in upcoming initiatives including a curriculum audit mentioned by the superintendent.
