The Ogden City School District board opened the meeting with recognitions for students and staff from across the district. Counselors and teachers introduced students of the month from Ben Lomond, George Washington, Ogden High, OTEC High and the post‑type program; students accepted awards and thanked teachers and family.
Jordan Brown and the visual arts department announced winners of the district winter greeting card contest; elementary and secondary winners’ artwork will be printed on holiday cards for district distribution. The presenters named elementary winners Melanie Quesada Sarate, Natalia Roblero Rojo and Desmond Fellows; secondary winners included third‑place Maya Mendez, Mia Quintero, Max Spendlow and best‑overall Lily Lucero.
The student board representative described a successful PBIS reward (a student soda bar), JROTC participation in the Christmas parade, band and Tigerette competitive successes, and a busy schedule of student government events. The representative reported the class of 2026 raised $1,499.75 from two bell‑ringing shifts and the student government raised a total of $2,008.85 for the Salvation Army. She also described the 'Miss Ogden' pageant fundraiser and other activities.
Quotes from students and staff were offered during presentations; student speakers thanked staff and families and reflected on what the honors mean to them. The board applauded the recognitions and encouraged continued student engagement.
