The Boulder Beverage Licensing Authority voted to continue the Crepe Therapy Cafe (Crepe Shack Boulder LLC) application until the BLA’s Jan. 21, 2026 meeting so the applicant can supply a full alcohol‑service policy and proof of staff training.

Owner Mawa McQueen and manager Zakaria Sidibe testified that Crepe Therapy Cafe is already operating and that they train staff and card customers. Board members, however, noted the packet did not include a detailed policy or training documentation and flagged a recent seven‑day suspension at an Aspen location after a cashier sold alcohol to a minor. Member Haggerty said she would be comfortable with a conditional approval if the board could review the training plan and policy materials; Member Carr moved to continue and Member Roberts seconded the motion. The board voted unanimously to continue the application rather than approve it that day.

Chair Roberts explained the continuance is not a denial and listed items the board expects at the next hearing: the full employee handbook or alcohol‑policy document, proof of training certifications for staff (TIPS/ABT/other responsible‑vendor certificates), ID‑check procedures (scanner or log), signage, and how staff handle intoxicated patrons. Staff and the applicant agreed the city licensing clerks are available to advise on requirements prior to the next hearing.

The board scheduled the continued hearing for the next BLA meeting on Jan. 21, 2026.
