County manager (agenda lists Joy Lehi) told the board on Dec. 18 that the late Ann Stiles previously donated 120 acres for a county park and that her estate has willed an additional unsolicited 8 acres contiguous to that park. Staff said the estate transaction has completed probate and that the deed of assent is ready for the board chairman to sign so the county can record the transfer before year-end.

Lehi described the additional 8 acres as the Stiles homestead containing an older house and some barns that would expand the existing park footprint. County Attorney Ms. Davis confirmed the request and said staff added the item to the agenda so the transaction could be completed and recorded before 2026.

The board moved the item forward for formal action at the upcoming voting session and authorized preparation of the deed for signature and recording; the work-session transcript does not capture a formal recorded roll-call vote on the chair’s signature authorization.
