County attorney presents standard mutual-aid MOU with Forsyth County on radio frequencies; Forsyth approval pending

County Attorney Miss Davis presented a memorandum of understanding at the Dawson County Board of Commissioners work session on Dec. 4 to formalize mutual aid and shared use of RFMS radio frequencies with Forsyth County. She described the document as a standard mutual-aid agreement that had been reviewed by staff and county legal counsel and noted that it also included a waiver of conflict related to legal services for both counties.
Miss Davis told commissioners she did not believe Forsyth County had approved the MOU yet but that the document is ready to move forward whenever the board chooses to vote on it. "It's a very standard agreement that exists in a lot of communities," she said, explaining staff review but not a protracted negotiation.
The board was given the memorandum for consideration; the transcript does not record a final vote or execution of the agreement at the work session.
