Natalie Johnson, Dawson County's chief financial officer, presented the board with the county's annual request to write off aging, uncollectible ambulance accounts during the Dec. 18 work session.

Johnson said the total for this year's request is $425,017.87 covering 755 accounts, primarily for services rendered in 2020–2021. "This is a process that we do every year," she said. Board members compared the figure to previous years and noted it was higher than some recent years but not as high as in 2023.

The item was moved forward for action at the county's next voting session; the work-session transcript does not include a recorded final vote in the work session itself.
