Members debated whether to appoint immediately or wait until both candidates could attend a meeting; citing a short term and upcoming substantial agenda items for the commission, council voted to defer the appointment and invite applicants to a December study session or January meeting for interviews.
The council instructed staff to include the candidates on the December 3 study session agenda and to continue recruitment for the next full term.
