Commissioners approve two alcohol licenses for Dawsonville businesses

The Dawson County Board of Commissioners approved two alcohol licenses at its Nov. 20 voting session.
Dippy Business LLC, doing business as Highway 53 Food Mart at 4141 Highway 53 East in Dawsonville, applied for a retail package license to sell malt beverages and wine. County staff read the application and noted the license will be issued only after final building completion and issuance of a certificate of occupancy; the board approved the application contingent on that certificate.
The board also approved an on-premises license for Volcano Dawsonville LLC d/b/a Volcano Steak & Sushi at 290 Marketplace Boulevard. The licensee, Jenny Lynn, was present at the meeting. The application cleared criminal-history review and the board voted to grant the on-premises alcohol license.
Both approvals were made by motion and recorded as approved by a 4-0 voice vote.
Votes and formal action: motions to approve the licenses were made, seconded and approved unanimously.
