The Evergreen School District Board of Directors reorganized its leadership at the Dec. 9 regular meeting, electing Jackie Weatherspoon as board president and Rob Perkins as vice president. The board conducted roll‑call votes for the president and vice president positions; the vice president vote was reported as four in favor with one abstention.
The actions followed nominations from trustees during the meeting: a nomination for Ginny Gronwold for president was made, but Director Weatherspoon was nominated and accepted the role. Rob Perkins was nominated and accepted the vice president nomination. The board also confirmed Director Bocanegra as the legislative representative and noted Bocanegra will attend WASDA legislative meetings as the district’s representative.
Earlier in the meeting the board administered the oath of office to elected officials for Evergreen School District No. 114. The board then took routine business action: it moved, seconded, and adopted both the board consent agenda and the superintendent consent agenda by voice vote; no opposition was recorded.
The board chair said the body would take a brief recess and reconvene for a workshop covering the draft 2026–27 school calendar, legislative priorities, a conference debrief, and board protocols.
