Daviess County redevelopment officials report surge of interest at Westgate Tech Park; major projects moving forward

Redevelopment staff told the Daviess County Redevelopment Commission that six to seven inquiries have come in for Westgate Tech Park, with several projects under construction (including an IPIF and Kratos facilities) and one large prospective data-center project tied to Navy contracts.
At a Nov. 25 meeting of the Daviess County Redevelopment Commission, an unidentified presenter (Speaker 4) said the Westgate Tech Park is drawing renewed developer interest, with "about 6 or 7" inquiries into parcels at the park and several projects either underway or planned. "One of them is a rather large potential, let's say, quantum computing kind of data center project with direct ties to the Navy and to the Department of War," Speaker 4 said.
The presenter listed multiple active construction efforts. The Indiana Payload Integration Facility (IPIF) and a Kratos facility are moving forward, and IPIF is "slated to be complete and operational in the facility by June of this upcoming year," Speaker 4 said. Kratos was awarded a contract tied to SPY-1 radar prototyping and has a roughly 150,000-square-foot pad prepared to begin vertical construction in spring. Contractor Weddell Brothers is ahead of schedule on a separate Strongbox project.
Speaker 4 also described other planned developments in the county, including an RCE site and a Momentum facility that are site-prepped and expected to start vertical construction at the end of the first quarter next year. Outside the county but connected to the regional ecosystem, Speaker 4 said CACI plans a 55,000-square-foot lab and office project in Martin County, targeting occupancy in June 2026, and Greene County has a roughly 12,000-square-foot spec building planned for late Q1.
Commissioners asked for clarifications: Speaker 1 asked whether the six to seven inquiries were for Daviess County, and Speaker 4 confirmed they were. When asked whether the previously finalized real estate agreement applies to all property in the park, Speaker 4 explained the agreement covers the property but that transactions occur per project.
Speaker 4 invited commissioners to visit the park and said staff will provide a follow-up update to the county commissioners in February. The redevelopment staff encouraged members to reach out with questions and indicated they will coordinate schedules for the February briefing.
The update emphasized a mix of large and smaller projects that county staff said could increase office, lab and warehousing capacity near Westgate and support Department of Defense–related contractors and suppliers.
