Valley Stream trustees approve ambulance sale, review 2026 vehicle purchases and vendor contracts

Those items included an annual fee of $30,760 for an enhanced cancer-insurance product for volunteer firefighters serving the Valley Stream Fire Department, renewal of 100 Microsoft 365 licenses plus seven encrypted-mail accounts at an annual cost of $11,084.85 for village email accounts, and a managed-services agreement for network and endpoint support billed at $2,129.40 per month. Packet descriptions identified the vendor for the health-plan item as a New York–based health plan; trustees noted concern about recent premium increases in the packet figures.
On the ambulance sale, Speaker 1 said, "So if you can get 10,000, I'm taking the 10,000," summarizing the board’s preference to secure the listed sale price despite paying broker commission. Michael Fox summarized vehicle assignments on the call: "Code public safety is getting 6 total vehicles."
Speaker 1 also noted a memo from Nicholas Casano proposing the addition of an appearance-ticket officer and reminded the board of a public hearing scheduled for the 15th of this month to consider a local-law change listed in the meeting packet. The meeting record shows a motion to accept prior minutes and other routine procedural approvals were handled during the session.
The board did not finalize every assignment of new vehicles during the meeting; trustees asked staff to clarify exact departmental assignments and confirm procurement lines before final allocation. The public hearing on the local-law change remains scheduled for the 15th.
