The Galt City Council voted to adopt Ordinance No. 2025-12, rezoning the Sheffield subdivision and establishing the applicable Planned Development Overlay development standards.
Mayor Rodriguez called for discussion on the item after it was pulled from the consent calendar. Council member Sandhu recused himself, citing a family property within 500 feet of the project; he left the room before discussion and vote. With four members present for the item, Council member Farmer moved to approve the ordinance and Council member Pratton seconded. Vice Mayor Reid voted no; Pratton, Farmer and Mayor Rodriguez voted yes. The motion passed 3–1.
The ordinance was presented as a second reading and adoption; staff identified the ordinance as item number 2025-12 on the agenda and described it as implementing the Planned Development Overlay standards for the Sheffield subdivision. No public comment was recorded during the open discussion after Sandhu recused himself.
The council’s action completes the local approval step for the rezoning. Staff did not present additional conditions or amendments during the hearing and no subsequent motions to reconsider or postpone were made at the meeting.
