Commissioners discussed alternatives, including phasing an increase mid‑year, but ultimately approved the immediate contract amendment with a 2–1 tally.
Commissioners said the action requires coordination with the county council for any appropriation changes. The board directed staff to present funding options to the council and to monitor service billing performance under the amended terms. The county clerk will record the amended contract details and the treasurer’s office will update payment schedules to reflect biannual disbursements.
