At its Dec. 15 meeting the Crest Hill City Council approved a series of consent-agenda items and construction pay requests, and moved one purchasing-policy item from the consent agenda for further work-session discussion.
The consent agenda approved items that included minutes, a temporary human-resources leasing agreement, an independent-contractor extension, a marketing-services agreement not to exceed $20,000 with Method Engine LLC, the 2025 MFT patching program contract with D Construction Inc. for $281,310, and a sanitary-sewer cleaning and televising contract for $1,063,280. The clerk read the list of bills and payroll items included in the packet and the council approved the consent package on roll call.
Council also approved a pay request related to city infrastructure projects. City Engineer Ron Wiedemann later asked for and the council approved pay request No. 1 from FurPal Construction USA LLC, directing Strand Associates to send revised documents to the Illinois EPA for approval and disbursement for $1,078,900.10.
Separately, the council considered a motion to remove and discuss the proposed amendments to the city’s credit-card and purchasing policies (item 6k). Alderman Tina Oberlin said the proposed language appeared to allow sharing an issued card and argued that a card should be used only by the person to whom it was issued. After discussion, the council voted to table the credit-card and purchasing-policy amendment for more discussion at a January work session.
A recruitment-services agreement with Local Gov Staffing Solutions for one position (assistant city administrator/HR director) was discussed and approved; council clarified the contract exhibit being approved covered only the single position, not the optional broader proposal included as an exhibit in the packet.
The motions recorded in the meeting packet list multiple resolution numbers (for example, resolution 1369 for MFT patching appears in the packet), and the clerk recorded roll-call votes showing the motions carried.
