Council interviews two board candidates and approves multiple appointments in consent agenda

At the start of the meeting, the council conducted interviews for boards and commissions. Jamie Bell told the council she seeks another term on the Art Center board to "continue to help the art center grow its influence" and cited her background in marketing and recent teaching at Western Iowa Tech.
Todd Evans introduced himself as a long‑time Sioux City resident with nearly 30 years in the HVAC trade and said he wished to serve on the Building and Housing Code Board. Council members thanked both applicants and asked brief follow‑up questions.
As part of the consent agenda the council moved to appoint Mike Cougars to the effective fiscal and public policy committee and Teresa Weaver to the Sister City Committee. The council also accepted annual reports from the airport board, events and tourism advisory board, and parking and skywalk system board of trustees. Those items passed as part of the consent agenda vote.
