Sioux City council members approved a slate of contract and permit resolutions covering stormwater, engineering services and telecommunications.
Council passed a resolution approving a post‑construction stormwater management plan, maintenance agreement and easement with DC Realty for a detention basin at 3240 31st Street. The council also approved an amendment to consulting services with DGR Engineering for the South Mulberry Street improvement project.
Council considered permits for ImOn Communications to maintain underground fiber adjacent to 3601 Country Club Boulevard and near Stone Avenue and Gordon Drive. A council member stated they needed to abstain from one of the ImOn items, citing a conflict of interest. Separately, the council opened and closed a public hearing on a dark fiber master lease agreement with ImOn Communications to allow the company to maintain fiber optic cables in exchange for city use of certain fiber; no public comment was offered and the resolution passed 5–0.
All contract items and the dark fiber lease were approved as presented; staff noted any necessary easements and technical exhibits would be executed by city staff following council approval.
