Carroll County Board approves agenda, minutes and personnel actions; meets in executive session

The Carroll County Board of Education conducted routine business at its November meeting, approving the agenda, prior meeting minutes and a three-item consent agenda before briefly going into executive session and approving personnel actions upon return.

After reconvening from the lobby signing, Chair Miller asked for approval of the meeting agenda; a board member moved to approve, another seconded, and the chair called the vote, which was recorded as unanimous. The chair then opened public input (no speakers) and sought approval of minutes for the Oct. 23 board meeting and the Nov. 17 work session; those minutes were moved, seconded and approved.

The board approved a three-item consent agenda presented by Superintendent Scott Cowher. Later in the meeting, the chair asked for a recommendation to meet in executive session to discuss future real estate acquisition, safety and security, personnel matters, pending or threatened litigation, and records exempt from disclosure under the Open Records Act. A motion to enter executive session was made, seconded and adopted. After the executive session the board returned to regular session, moved to adjourn executive session, and then voted to approve personnel actions as presented by the superintendent.
