The Big Lake Public School District board approved a contract with Granite City Roofing for $1,952,000 to complete the district's 2026 roofing and building-envelope work.

TJ, reporting on bid openings held the previous Friday, said five companies submitted bids and that Granite City Roofing's combined bid was the lowest and came in about $440,000 under competing proposals. TJ recommended awarding the work to Granite City Roofing and noted the price is within the district's $2.4 million roofing budget.

Board member Shavillion moved to award the contract; Brown seconded and the motion carried on a voice vote. TJ said the contract will include manufacturer warranties on the new roofing and that the district expects to address several remaining hallway leaks and flashing through additional paneling as part of the work.

The board recorded the vendor name and contract amount at the meeting; no roll-call vote was taken in the transcript.
