Martha Gutierrez, who led the human resources redesign, presented the district’s revamped HR and careers web page at the Dec. 16 board meeting and said the changes focus on helping prospective candidates see what it is like to work in Woodland.
Gutierrez said the redesign centers on three candidate questions—what it is like to work here, what benefits are offered and where to find openings—and now includes benefits-at-a-glance, enhanced insurance rate sheets, recruiting event listings and video content highlighting district programs.
"Working at Woodland is just not about a paycheck," Gutierrez said, describing added content intended to show career pathways, benefits comparisons and district statistics that prospective hires may use when evaluating opportunities. She credited multimedia staff Brooke Heggstrom and Elizabeth Benish for implementation.
Board members suggested adding a contact form or a testimonials section; Gutierrez said both are planned for future phases. The HR team also linked to multilingual- and VIT (visiting international teacher) resources so international candidates can find licensure and onboarding information.
The presentation concluded with an invitation for board members to review the site and provide feedback. The district said the HR page will continue to be updated as recruiting needs evolve.
