Dysart board approves contracts and several administrator appointments
Summary
Board approved 2026–27 contract language and notices of employment for certificated and classified staff, authorized issuance of employment contracts, and confirmed a slate of administrator appointments including principals and assistant principals across the district.
The Dysart Unified School District Governing Board approved several personnel actions on Dec. 15, including adoption of contract language and benefit packages for certificated and licensed employees and approval of notices of employment for classified staff for the 2026–27 school year.
Administration told the board the documents had been vetted by legal counsel and that job descriptions are maintained separately in the district’s library. The board approved the issuance of employment contracts and notices of employment and later approved a list of administrator appointments the district recommended.
Appointments approved during the meeting included Kayla Oliver as interim high‑school assistant principal, Amy Crow as elementary principal at Freedom, Michael Fowler as elementary principal at Cimarron Springs, Samantha Centeno as high‑school principal, Michael Barolo as high‑school assistant principal at Willow Canyon and Jessica Torres as elementary assistant principal at Surprise. Each motion was made, seconded and passed during the meeting.
Board members asked clarifying questions about roles such as the school psychologist and about job descriptions; administration said job descriptions exist as part of hiring libraries though they are not embedded in the contract packets.
