Egg Harbor Township introduces six ordinances, schedules Dec. 17 public hearings

The Egg Harbor Township Committee on Nov. 24 introduced six ordinances and set public hearings for Dec. 17 at 5 p.m., the township attorney said during a packed meeting that also featured public comment on redevelopment projects.
The measures include updates to curb and sidewalk requirements to align with current engineering standards (Ordinance 30); revised residential grading, topsoil and seeding procedures (Ordinance 31); zoning code changes adding uniform address-display requirements and revised fees for single-family dwellings (Ordinance 32); a revised redevelopment plan for the Timber Ridge area (Ordinance 33); authorization of a tax-abatement agreement for a roughly 43,050-square-foot indoor sports facility at 3324 Lincoln Town Road (Ordinance 34); and adoption of a Route 152 redevelopment plan (Ordinance 35). Each ordinance summary stated the purpose and set a public hearing date of Dec. 17, 2025, at 5 p.m.
The committee moved and seconded each introduction and conducted roll calls after the readings. Committee members recorded affirmative votes to introduce the ordinances and schedule the public hearings; the transcript records individual roll-call “yes” responses for each ordinance introduction, and a recorded “no” on Ordinance 33 during that vote. The motions therefore carried and the hearings remain scheduled.
Why it matters: Several of the items—most notably the Timber Ridge and Route 152 redevelopment plans—have drawn sustained public attention during the committee’s review process and will receive formal public hearings where residents will be able to testify.
The committee also adopted a consent calendar (resolutions 545–554) and approved resolution 555 authorizing payment of bills. Finally, the committee approved a resolution (556) to close to executive session to discuss two legal matters and potential personnel/legal issues.
The public hearings on these ordinances are scheduled for Dec. 17 at 5 p.m.; the committee said staff will provide updated supporting materials where possible prior to that meeting.
