Renton council approves finance committee reports including payroll, contracts and park projects

Two customer utility leak adjustments were approved: account 6885000 (UDRT Hilltop) for $5,268.62 and account 051426000 (Trevi LLC) for $23,892.10; staff recommended the adjustments under Renton municipal code language shown in the record. The council also approved an amendment to the janitorial services agreement with CCS Facility Services for $402,270.12 to extend park restroom cleaning through Nov. 30, 2026.
Capital and project approvals included authorizing a $379,889.97 contract with Northwest Playground Equipment Inc. for a new Highlands Park playground and authorizing Amendment No. 3 to contract 21006 with GeoEngineers Inc. for $198,531.64 of additional work on the Cedar River Trail and bank stabilization project. The council also approved an amendment to accept an additional $52,497 in grant funds from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office for the Talbot Hill Reservoir Park sports courts.
The committee recommended and the council concurred with a staff-recommended ordinance authorizing acquisition (use of eminent domain) of four King County parcels owned by Stacy Holdings Inc.; a public hearing on that item was scheduled for Dec. 1, according to staff.
What happens next
Staff will proceed with contract execution and grant administration per the approved authorizations. The public hearing on the eminent-domain authorization is scheduled for Dec. 1, at which staff and property owners may present further information.
