Arroyo Grande, Calif. The Planning Commission on Dec. 2 reviewed the preliminary public draft of Arroyo Grandes comprehensive general plan, with the citys consultant and staff outlining proposed land-use changes, new policy directions and a public-review timeline that runs for 45 days.
Michael Gibbons, project manager for Minteer Harnish, told the commission the draft is the product of a multiyear effort and broad community outreach and said, "It is an absolute pleasure to be here to introduce and daylight, as Brian put it, your draft general plan." Gibbons described the plan as a blueprint of goals, policies and implementation programs and said the city released the public review draft two weeks earlier.
The draft includes a reapplication of specific-plan designations to additional properties, a new East Grand Corridor mixed-use designation, higher allowable densities in targeted residential and commercial zones, and a standalone parks designation to identify community, neighborhood and pocket parks on the land-use map.…
