Farmersville Unified board elects Sabrina Gomez president, approves clerk and secretary appointments

The Farmersville Unified School District Board of Trustees completed its annual organizational business during a meeting that began with a short recess and reconvened at about 5:01 p.m.
Board members elected Sabrina Gomez as board president by roll-call vote after a motion and second; the motion carried unanimously. The board also elected Freddy Espinosa to serve as clerk and, by separate motion, appointed the superintendent to serve as the board secretary.
The board approved the regular meeting calendar for the coming year and authorized filing verified signatures with the county superintendent in accordance with Education Code requirements. Trustees also named Rosette Zamora as the district’s representative for the 2026 county committee election.
The actions were routine and procedural; each item passed on unanimous votes. The board recessed at about 4:39 p.m. before reconvening for the regular meeting and public comment.
The organizational votes were procedural and do not change district policy; the board will follow up on scheduling and signature filings with the county office as required.
