Stormwater coordinator reports MS4 enforcement, annual staff training and ERU billing for new developments

The stormwater coordinator told the Whiteland Town Stormwater Board that enforcement and compliance work has been active across roughly a dozen sites, with repeat violations now approaching third-offense status under the town’s MS4 requirements.
The coordinator cited two problem sites near the Culver’s on SR 31 where inadequate silt fencing and contractor track-out had created mud on the roadway, and said staff have been working with contractors to bring them into compliance with the MS4 ordinance.
The coordinator also reported completion of the annual MS4 training for town employees — a 45-minute session that included questions and answers and practical housekeeping guidance — and said they calculated Equivalent Residential Units (ERUs) for newly occupied buildings at developments named Redwood and Allure so the utility clerk can begin billing stormwater fees to those properties.
Board members had no additional questions and thanked the coordinator for the work.
