The presenter told the board the proposed operating changes and a capital outlay plan (including a possible shared equipment purchase) meant “the overall, stormwater budget is only being requested to be increased by $22,132.”
Board members questioned how depreciation transfers would be treated. The presenter said the transfers would be set aside into a fund akin to an improvement fund so that accumulated overages can be used to pay cash for larger projects or to support bonding, rather than being spent in routine operations.
Before the budget vote, members clarified a small discrepancy in the total dollar figure shown in the packet; the board then approved the budget by roll call 3-0 (Jamie Dine: yes; Michael Hendrickson: yes; Dennis Caposi: yes).
