Planning staff previews Stone House EIR, Dec. 10 general plan workshop and January Meadows review

City planning staff told the Sierra Madre City Planning Commission on Dec. 4 that upcoming agenda items will include an environmental impact report (EIR) review for the Stone House Night Lot subdivision, a Dec. 10 workshop to solicit public feedback on conservation and open-space elements of the general plan, and the January start of review for the Meadows design review project covering 42 homes.
During the council liaison report, an unnamed council liaison also reminded commissioners that the City Council will meet Dec. 9 to consider a transportation plan that has been in development for two years, and that a council reorganization on Dec. 16 will install a new mayor and mayor pro tem. The liaison said, "the transportation plan that we've been working on for the last 2 years in our ad hoc transportation committee" will be the primary council agenda item.
Staff circulated a revised commission agenda that reorders the consent calendar to follow public hearings and invited commissioners to provide input, through the end of the year, on whether to include the Pledge of Allegiance as part of future meeting formats. The planning department invited the public to attend the Dec. 10 general plan workshop to provide comments on the conservation and open-space elements.
None of these items were decided at the Dec. 4 meeting; staff provided scheduling and procedural previews so the commission and public could prepare for upcoming hearings and workshops.
