Administrator announces limited snow-parking ban, Spur Jetty bid update and holiday events

Snow removal parking ban: Prescott said a limited snow removal parking ban will be in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 to 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 on a list of downtown streets (Main, Elm, Beach, Common, Cross, Cuts Avenue, Free, High, Middle Street, Middle Street Extension, Park Avenue, Pepperell Square, Pleasant Street, Store, Thornton and Water). Vehicles parked on those streets during the posted times are subject to ticket, tow and storage fees; Prescott directed listeners to the city’s webpage for a parking map and email notification sign-up.
Spur Jetty contract: Prescott said the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, held a successful bid opening and that Mohawk Northeast Inc. was the low bidder; the Corps is performing administrative steps and expects to award the contract by early January and will update the city around Dec. 12.
Holiday festival: Prescott invited residents to the Holiday Festival and Parade of Lights on Dec. 13; the daytime festival begins at 9:30 a.m. and the parade starts at 6 p.m., and the event schedule and road-closure details are on sacomainstreet.org and sacomain.org.
