Superintendent spotlights student achievements, launches grants dashboard preview

Superintendent Priya Tehiliani used the Dec. 16 School Committee meeting to highlight district recognitions, student achievements and new financial-transparency tools.
Tehiliani recognized Brockton High School athletic trainer Brianna Pina and BPS art director Sarah Richards for statewide honors, and named four Brockton High students who received Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents awards. She also described hands-on student projects—fourth graders building solar ovens that reached 118°F and high-school students participating in STEM programs at MIT and Northeastern, including FAA pilot training for a new cohort.
On finance, Tehiliani announced a live grants dashboard at bpsma.org/finance and said the committee and select community members already have preview access; the district hopes to go fully live next week. She also noted the district completed a pilot of a warrant system and that the finance team will present a fuller fiscal update in the new year.
Committee members asked for the exact link and went over timing for the public launch; the superintendent said she will share preview access and an announcement before the winter break.
