Board approves Depot signage for Chamber of Commerce with village contribution

The village board approved the Waunakee Area Chamber of Commerce’s proposed Depot signage and agreed to contribute $1,500 toward the historic-style Depot sign. Staff said the Chamber would cover the remaining sign costs.
Board members offered a small copy suggestion (placing 'Welcome Center' on the top-left sign) and asked staff to relay the board’s comments to the Chamber. Trustee Chris Zellner, who serves on the Chamber board, abstained from the vote; the motion carried with the remaining trustees voting aye.
Staff said the Depot is village-owned and the signage is intended to both honor the historic train-depot look and clearly indicate the Chamber office location.
