The Brockton School Committee voted unanimously on Dec. 2 to approve superintendent evaluation objectives for fiscal year 2026, adopting the three goals Superintendent Dr. Tiliani proposed at the Oct. 22 meeting.
Dr. Tiliani described the framework as three goals: a district improvement goal focused on audits, district reviews and compliance; a professional practice goal tied to the district review and alignment with Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) standards to support a forthcoming strategic plan; and a student learning goal to provide additional support and intervention for schools identified by DESE as needing assistance. She said each year the district selects six focus indicators for monitoring, which this year include assessment, data‑informed decision making and fiscal systems.
Committee members discussed whether the strategic plan and supporting materials were readily accessible online; Dr. Tiliani said the presentation and goals are posted on the Brockton Public Schools website and offered to share the direct link. Miss Sullivan and other members expressed support for the transparency of documentation and the superintendent’s work.
A motion by Mister Gomes, properly seconded by Miss Oliver, to approve the objectives carried with a roll‑call vote in which all members present voted yes. The committee did not amend the objectives at the Dec. 2 meeting and asked staff to ensure materials are accessible to the public.
