The mayor urged approval, saying the service lets many older residents “age in place” and that the city intends to keep the co‑pay at $3 per ride. Finance staff provided usage numbers covering December through October: 461 total trips at a cost of $16,679.14. Council members raised questions about the contractor’s fee schedule, which lists different rates for individual and group trips and a $1,000 rate for up to five individuals that led to confusion about per‑person costs.
Because of the unclear pricing, including how group trips are billed and an apparent outlier in prior invoicing, the council moved to table the resolution until the next regular meeting so staff can clarify the fee schedule and the contract language. The motion to table carried by roll call.
