Board approves PSESD behavioral-services agreement, DCYF regional education renewal and Pierce County Skills Center coop; accepts donation for lunch debt

The Eatonville School Board approved several consent items and acknowledged a community donation during its December meeting.

The board approved a fee-for-service agreement with the Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) to provide BCBA (board-certified behavior analyst) access and supervision for staff seeking Registered Behavior Technician supervision. Presenters said the model is a flexible, cost-effective approach for districts that do not employ a full-time BCBA and helps the district meet IEP and state/federal obligations without hiring full-time specialized staff (SEG 2388-2419, SEG 2423-2431). The motion to approve the PSESD MASH agreement was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote (SEG 2437-2454).

The board also approved renewal of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) regional education agreement, a standard interagency framework ensuring educational stability and immediate enrollment for children in foster or juvenile rehabilitation placements (SEG 2460-2479). The motion carried by voice vote.

An updated interdistrict cooperative agreement with the Pierce County Skills Center also was approved. Presenters said adding an additional district as a financing partner (Peninsula) was under discussion but would likely not change Eatonville's immediate student slots; the motion carried (SEG 2516-2574).

Finally, the board publicly acknowledged a donation of $1,872.50 from Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church to address student lunch debt; board members thanked faith leaders and community donors for support (SEG 2592-2627).
