The Eatonville School District Board of Directors swore in Katie Hanselman and unanimously re-elected Rhonda Litzenberger as board chair during its December meeting.

Rhonda Litzenberger repeated the oath of office to serve as director “of Eatonville School District 404, Pierce County, State of Washington,” and Katie Hanselman likewise recited the oath before the board (SEG 118-136, SEG 148-166). The board then conducted its annual reorganization. After nominations, Rhonda was confirmed as chair by roll-call vote (Karen: yes; Paulette: yes; Travis: yes; Katie: yes), and Paulette was elected vice chair by unanimous roll call (SEG 279-336).

Board members used the reorganization segment to present a certificate recognizing the board as a 2025 Board of Distinction from the Washington State School Directors Association, citing the district's strategic plan and community engagement. Members also offered tributes to a departing member, noting her years of service and thanking her for advocacy on behalf of students (SEG 191-219, SEG 001-070).

The board announced a brief recess for seat changes and refreshments before resuming its agenda.

The board is scheduled to continue regular business items in upcoming meetings; no additional action was required immediately after the reorganization vote.
