The Cache County School District Board recognized four teachers of the year at its Dec. 18 meeting, celebrating classroom leadership across elementary and secondary schools.
Paula Hull, principal at Melville Elementary, presented Molly Clayson and praised her work with students with disabilities and her advocacy on their behalf. "What truly sets Molly apart is her heart for the most vulnerable learners," Hull said.
Lewiston Elementary principal Troy Pugmire introduced Christy Williams as Lewistons Teacher of the Year, noting Williamss mentorship of new teachers and service on the school community council and safety committee. "She consistently focuses on helping each student reach their full potential," Pugmire said.
Dee Downs presented a recognition for Melissa at Greenville Elementary, calling her a teacher who "cultivates curiosity" and who has made an "indeniable mark" on students and colleagues.
Vice principal Bridal Fonsbeck honored Andrea Thompson at Sky View High School, highlighting Thompsons concurrent-enrollment teaching and leadership of the debate team.
Board members invited supporters for the awardees to stand and thanked families and staff for supporting the teachers. The recognitions preceded the regular business agenda.
