Selectmen approve two temporary-event permits for Moose Mountain Recreation Center

The Brookfield Board of Selectmen approved two temporary-event permits for events at the Moose Mountain Recreation Center.
Speaker 1 presented the first permit for a Jan. 17 tree-burn event (5–8 p.m., tree burn at ~5:30 p.m., ~60 trees, indoor service and live music). After confirming that police, fire and code enforcement had signed the application and noting the event has run before without incident, a motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
A second permit was for organized races on Jan. 24 and Feb. 28 (with rain dates Feb. 7 and Mar. 7), described as 8AM–4PM events using the front field by hole 4 of the Frisbee Golf course. Board members asked questions about equipment (stock vehicles) and hours; the motion to approve was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.
Both approvals were routine and the chair noted the events had the necessary departmental sign-offs.
