Chesterfield County’s economic development team told board members the county had a banner year, reporting about $3.4 billion in capital investment across eight projects and roughly 1,200 jobs tied to those projects, during an annual update and partner presentations at a December work session.
Garrett (presenter) said labor force growth was just under 1%, job growth was just under 2% and average wages rose about 3.3% in 2025, a gain he said outpaced inflation. "We have a record high weekly wage," he said, adding that the county’s five‑year totals include about $11 billion in projects and nearly 7,000 jobs.
