HIGLEY, Ariz. — The Higley Unified School District governing board recorded several votes on Dec. 9. Key outcomes follow:
- FY26 budget revision #1: Approved (motion and second recorded; motion carried 5–0). The revision captures one‑time funds and ADM updates; staff will incorporate the changes in official budget documents and post them publicly.
- 2026–27 course guides: Board approved course guides for high school, middle school, Higley Virtual Academy and special education (motion carried 5–0).
- 2025–26 HUSD goals: Board approved district goals as presented (motion carried 5–0).
- Overnight/out‑of‑state travel (ESEA conference): Motion carried 4–1 after board discussion about session content; one member voted against the expenditure on grounds of content concerns.
- Intergovernmental agreement with Arizona Department of Education (Teaching Partners): Approved 5–0 for district participation in the Teaching Partners program.
Each action was moved and seconded as recorded in the minutes; the board also approved the consent agenda earlier in the meeting (5–0) and adjourned after a board self‑evaluation session.
