Commission approves EDA reappointments and several administrative items; asks for budget details on personnel moves

Morgan County commissioners used the Dec. 3 meeting to handle routine but consequential administrative matters, approving reappointments and hiring decisions while asking staff for follow-up budget details.

An unidentified commissioner moved to reappoint Susan Webster, Cody Cox, Grady Steele and Cynthia Hall Miller to the Morgan County Economic Development Authority Board with terms expiring Dec. 31, 2028; the motion was placed on the floor and commissioners expressed their approval.

The commission also placed and approved hires for the Wellness Center (Cooper McDaniel and Julie Bryner) and reviewed DRC personnel matters. Staff said Ricky had submitted notice and recommended promoting Chastity to case manager while advertising for the vacated peer‑recovery position. Commissioners requested current and proposed salary figures for Ricky and Chastity, plus a proposed salary for the new hire, before final approval of the full personnel changes.

Separately, staff presented Microsoft/Office 365 license arrangements and local agreements for the town of Bath. Commissioners directed staff to pair down seats where possible and to explore options for retaining historical emails to external storage to limit ongoing cloud fees.

Motions recorded at the meeting included approval of minutes and several items of routine business; most procedural matters were approved with aye votes recorded in the meeting record. Staff were asked to supply the explicit salary numbers and a revised budget estimate for DRC personnel at the next meeting before the promotion and hiring are finalized.
