Board delays Eastern Arizona College IGA adoption pending reconstitution of advisory committee

County staff asked the board whether to contact expired advisory-committee members for Eastern Arizona College classes; staff proposed delaying the IGA adoption until the committee slots are filled and returning recommendations in January.
County Administrator Derek Rapier told the board Greenlee County has a long-standing intergovernmental agreement with Eastern Arizona College to support locally offered classes and said staff discovered several advisory-committee appointments had expired.
Rapier said staff can contact the listed individuals to confirm interest and suggested the board wait to adopt or renew the IGA until those advisory positions are confirmed. "I proposed to Mr. Smith that we will not adopt the IGA until we have our committee in place," Rapier said, and recommended bringing a slate of appointees back to the board in the first or second meeting in January.
Board members asked staff to resend the current advisory list so supervisors can suggest replacements or verify continuing interest. Rapier said staff will reach out to those whose terms have expired, verify residency and interest, and report back to the board with a recommended list of appointees.
The board gave staff direction to contact potential advisory-committee members and to return to the board with appointment recommendations prior to adopting or finalizing the IGA.
