Greenlee County board adopts tentative 2026 meeting dates and posting locations

The Greenlee County Board of Supervisors voted to adopt the board’s tentative 2026 meeting dates, times and public posting locations pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes §11-214.
Bianca Castaneda, clerk of the board, presented the proposed calendar and said regular sessions are scheduled for the first and third Tuesday of each month at 8 a.m., with special notations for August and two meetings that currently fall on holidays. "Those dates and times are subject to change," Castaneda said, noting staff will update the calendar if the state legislature finalizes a change to the primary election date.
Castaneda told the board that agendas will be posted at the courthouse upstairs, at the Dunkin Annex, on the county website and on the county's Facebook page. Board members discussed statutory timing for canvassing and setting tax rates, and staff reminded the board that state law requires canvassing on particular Mondays after the election and that tax rates must be set before the third Monday in August.
A supervisor who moved the adoption cited the clerk’s presentation and statutory requirements; another supervisor seconded the motion. The board approved the motion by voice vote (ayes).
The board will revisit the dates if the legislature or county election officials require changes; staff said the next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 6 and the first regular Tuesday meeting will be Jan. 20.
