Granite Falls reports stronger fund balance and certifies levy collection to county

At its Nov. 12 meeting the Granite Falls School Board heard a business report from Marshall Cruz and approved a routine levy certification resolution.
Cruz said the district's fund balance has reached 5.4%, exceeding its 5% target, and that the district now holds more than $2,000,000 in fund balance. He credited board stewardship and conservative budgeting for the improvement and noted that levy‑related agenda items will be recurring topics at upcoming meetings as the district finalizes levy implementation.
The board then considered and approved Resolution 25‑26‑07, the annual levy certification that instructs Snohomish County to collect the levy funds voters previously approved. The motion to approve the resolution was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
Board members expressed pride in reaching the fund balance goal and noted that certification is a required administrative step to access levy revenues; no changes to levy rates were made at the meeting.
