Clark Public Schools superintendent says NJSLA slides posted online, outlines concerts and holiday schedule

Superintendent Mister Grandy told the Board of Education of Clark Public Schools that the district has posted last spring's New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) results on the district website and that curriculum leaders used those results to plan instruction.
"Our New Jersey student learning assessment from last spring's result slides are now posted on the district website under new curriculum, technology, and assessment page," Grandy said. He said the curriculum committee reviewed the results earlier in the year while the results were still private and are using the data to plan instruction for this school year.
Grandy highlighted several school events and programs. He said ALJEP research students are working through institutional review board (IRB) requirements to validate their projects; Carl H. Combs School held an arts-integration day; Henley School held a "making a difference" student recognition program; and Valley Road School participated in a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade appearance.
On the calendar, Grandy listed the district's holiday concert schedule: Valley Road School begins the series next Wednesday evening; Carl H. Kempf has split events with choir on Thursday the 11th and band on the 18th; ALJ concerts are Tuesday the 16th; Frank A. Henley concerts are Wednesday the 17th; all are in the ALJ Auditorium at 7 p.m. He said Tuesday the 23rd is the last day before winter break, with break running through Friday, Jan. 2, and schools reopening Monday, Jan. 5.
The superintendent concluded by wishing the community happy holidays and urging continued collaboration with staff and families. The board took no formal action on items in the superintendent's report during the meeting.
