The Haverford School Board announced that its negotiating team and the Haverford Teachers Education Association reached a tentative agreement on Dec. 3 and expect formal ratification later this month.
During the public-comment portion of the work session Rich Maglory, who identified himself as an advocate for reading specialists for autistic children and described his grandson’s needs, urged the board to prioritize reading interventions. Maglory emphasized the importance of joy and community in schools and asked the board to ensure students who score well below grade level receive full‑time reading‑specialist services when required by valid assessments.
Board leadership said formal ratification procedures will follow the tentative bargaining agreement and the next regular board action meeting is Dec. 18.
