Cary staff announce holiday parade, recycling program and Rotary Park open house

Assistant Administrator Radcliffe announced the Mary Cary Holiday Parade and Festival will take place Sunday, Dec. 7, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., with the parade kicking off at 1 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Cary and associated road closures. "The parade will be kicking off at 01:00 on Main Street in Downtown Cary," Radcliffe said, and urged residents to note street closures.
Director Noonan described a holiday recycling program for string/christmas lights with collection bins sited at Village Hall and at Cary Fire Stations Nos. 1 and 2. "There's the village implemented a holiday recycling program where existing bins... are at Village Hall here and at Cary Fire Stations, Number 1 and 2," Noonan said. He also announced a Rotary Park open house on Dec. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. to gather public input for a future grant application; Noonan added that contractor mobilization has begun and a section of the park path will be closed during work.
Noonan also noted that the Cary Social District will close for the season starting Dec. 15 and is scheduled to reopen March 1. Chief Finland reminded residents that an overnight parking restriction on all village streets took effect Dec. 1.
