Summary
Darryl McCook of Cobb County Procurement opened five solicitations covering water-system monitoring, food concessions, uniforms, a roof replacement and program management for a South Cobb public health building, and announced the Board of Commissioners raised the formal solicitation threshold to $250,000, effective immediately.
Darryl McCook of Cobb County Procurement opened a public bid reading and announced five solicitations on behalf of the Board of Commissioners, reading vendor names for each submission and noting procedural details that vendors should consider.
McCook said the water department’s solicitation C0179 covers FY26 collection system flow monitoring services and listed two submitters, Friess and Nichols Inc. and Wolpert Inc. "This is an RFP with many factors involved, so we'll be reading names only," he said.
For solicitation 266948, described as food concession services at multiple parts facilities, McCook read three vendors. He apologized for a pronunciation and read the name in the transcript as "Abdi Grama Mazous," then offered an alternate rendering, "Abdelk Abdulakarim Masous." He also read Plated Pleasures Hospitality Group LLC and Top Shelf Food and Beverage Management LLC.
A solicitation read in the transcript as "26.69 51" for the purchase of uniforms and related items listed FCE Entertainment, Key Apparel and UniFirst as respondents. McCook repeated that vendors were being read only because these solicitations are RFPs.
On solicitation 266953, for the Public Safety Warehouse roof replacement, McCook announced a bid from S. Edwards LLC with a lump-sum price of $267,380, and said another bid was received but was not announced because it lacked a bid bond. "We did receive another bid, but a bid bond was not included. And, legally, I'm not allowed to announce that vendor," he said.
For solicitation 266954, for program management, reconstruction services and construction management for the new South Cobb Public Health Building, McCook read submissions transcribed as "4PM, public private partnership project management," "Bridal Partners," and Turner and Townsend Inc.
McCook also announced that the next bid opening will take place next Thursday, Dec. 18, because of pending holidays and directed listeners to the Cobb County procurement website for details. He said the Board of Commissioners has raised its formal bid solicitation threshold to $250,000, effective immediately, and that all formal solicitations of $250,000 or greater will be posted on the county’s procurement site.
The reading consisted of vendor-name announcements and procedural notes; no votes or awards were recorded in the transcript. McCook closed the session with thanks and holiday greetings.
