At its Dec. 15 meeting, the Lakewood City Council approved the consent agenda, which included approval of minutes (12/01/2025; special meeting 12/02/2025; study session 12/08/2025), Motion 2025-87 (authorization to execute an amendment to the agreement with Active Construction for the Silicon Boulevard project), Motion 2025-88 (collective bargaining agreement with Teamsters Local 117 for Jan. 1, 2026–Dec. 31, 2029), and Motion 2025-89 (appointing Kristen Flores and James Merritt to the planning commission through Dec. 15, 2028).
Councilmember Pearson moved adoption; Deputy Mayor Mary Moss seconded, and the consent agenda was adopted by voice vote.
Under new business the council considered Motion 2025-90 to appoint a presiding officer for the Jan. 5, 2026 council meeting. Councilmember Branstetter moved an amendment to insert Councilmember Pearson’s name as presiding officer for that first January meeting. The amendment passed by voice vote, and the motion as amended passed by voice vote. Councilmembers said appointing a presiding officer would help with meeting flow while the mayor and deputy mayor transition out.
